Our Designers
Eric Leeson, RLA, Landscape Architect, Marketing & Sales
Eric on design: Generally designing with understated elegance, I advise the utilization of bold, deliberate forms to create strong statements where appropriate. In striving to be ecologically correct, I stress preservation and the use of native plants and materials. Where possible, a design should follow the path of least resistance; don't force what isn't supposed to be on a site. As an innovative problem solver as much as an artistic type of designer, I emphasize that if a plan does not work or meet the clients' needs, it isn't a good solution no matter how great or original the idea.
Matt Sigda, Landscape Design & Sales
Matt on design: When asked what my design style is, I reply, "Whatever is necessary." Every client and site is unique. When creating a design, I want to respond to the needs and budget of the client, the site, and the architecture of the home. I have a passion for plants, and strive to put the right plant in the right place. A good design will meet the goals of the client as well as the landscape designer.
David Turberville, Landscape Design & Sales
Dave on design: The primary goal in my design process is to connect the client with the landscape. The setting then dictates how I use information gathered to form natural shapes and patterns. My designs incorporate artistic and emotional techniques that will give the client not only a visual experience, but an emotional one as well, whether it's a relaxed natural setting or a dramatic formal garden, or both. When you use the right plants horticulturally, then you have a design that works.
Tricia Voss, Landscape Design & Sales
Tricia on design: Listening is the most important part of my job. My goal is to create a landscape that is an extension of the clients' lifestyle and home. The transition between outdoors and indoors should be defined by plants instead of walls and furniture. The key to a great landscape is to combine color, texture, size, form and seasonal interest into a work of art that is ever changing. I love a challenge and am always trying new things, whether it is new plant material or a new approach to improve a difficult site.
